Note 3 Samsung caught cheating in benchmarks

It seems that Samsung is doing with the new Note 3 the same as it did with the Galaxy S4: inflate the CPU speed only in the presence of benchmarks.

According to Ars Technica, the Note 3 increases the speed of the CPU and GPU only in the presence of the most popular benchmarks. There is a file with a list that includes names like Antutu, Quadrant and Geekbench, among others.

According to the website, in order to save energy, the Note 3 off all cores unnecessary and reduces the speed to 300 MHz in order to save energy. However, the presence of a benchmark, the device increases the speed of all cores and it is 2.3GHz in this state until the user exits the app. On average, the ArsTechica registered an inflation rate of 20% in performance due to this behavior, and the increase in Linpack performance reaches 50% - to measure excess performance, the site changed the name of the apps, so that the smartphone does not invoke the special way of extra performance.
