Sony creates tape that stores 185 TB of data

Sony cria fita que armazena 185 TB de dadosGone are the days of Betamax and VHS that were used by the consumer to see and record movies. Already by large companies and government agencies the technology was exploited to record data as we do today in a pen. Last April 30, researchers from Sony managed to beat a record that can lead to the development of new technologies ... or resurrect old. The Japanese company has developed a tape capable of storing 18.5 GB per square inch, which is equivalent to 74 times the density of a normal tape.

Altogether, the tape is created capable of storing 185 TB of data, equivalent to 3700 Blu-Rays.
